WORKED ON: KINGS CROSS KNICKERS CATALOG

How you look and present yourself in the clubhouse, on the golf course or traveling to your favorite resort may not help you score, but atleast you will appear in style ;)I cannot believe I have not blogged this shoot yet!! So, back in January I got a call from the ladies over at the New York Aesthetics School to do professional makeup for the King Cross Knickers catalog and their brand new online golf store. They are a line of golf apparel inspired by golf’s rich centuries history offering authentic knickers and other classic golf apparel.  So if you love to golf and you love to dress up, you can follow Kings Cross Knickers on facebook for daily golf fashion updates!
Below are some cute behind the scene pictures I took from the shoot.  I got to do makeup on men, women and even little kids. The little guys were so cute and so much fun to work with!  Yes, I had to apply makeup to the children too.  Generally, when you are doing makeup on kids you want to keep it simple and just focus on lips, cheeks and eyes.  You want them to look natural but still pop under the harsh photography lighting.  Enjoy!
To golfing in style ;) xoxo

IMATS 2012

IMATS (International Makeup Tradeshow) 2012 was SO. MUCH. FUN!  Beautiful day, beautiful people, beautiful products!! My Junior Makeup lady, Veronica Nunes and I scoured the floor for the best products on the market for our clients.  You defiantly can’t find half of the prestige products we bought at Sephora, or anywhere in Albany or Saratoga.

I attended IMATS 2011 last year with my sister, and this year didn’t even compare to how much  space they had for all the vendors and attendees! During my employment in New York at Trafik Tradeshow (a contemporary fashion apparel tradeshow) one of the things I learned while I was in charge of booth configurations is that you want to make sure that every attendee is able to walk the floor without feeling overwhelmed and not wanting to leave before seeing every vendor. IMATS 2012 was perfectly coordinated!

This year IMATS was held at Pier 94 (SMART!) where there was SO much room for all of the attendees and vendors.  Last year it was packed into a tiny little space and I can’t help but describe it as an ‘attic’!  Thankfully, IMAT’s did an amazing job this year!  I walked the floor longer and purchased a lot more products this time around because I was able to walk the floor feeling relaxed.

I feel extremely blessed and thankful that I got to attend IMATS with my great friend Veronica! Makeup is blowing up in a big way these days, so sit back and take a peak into what I discovered through my eyes :)

Most of the brands were offering amazing show discounts, in which Veronica and I were able to acquire our Pro Cards, a professional makeup artist’s purchasing card from a bunch of different companies.  We are excited because we now can get a Professional Makeup Discount for life!

I was genuinely impressed with the whole show and I have a ton more great photos and information about IMATS to post!!

Love Love Love,

DISCOUNT MAKEUP

Looking for affordable makeup with great quality? I am sure most of us are constantly on the search for great, yet affordable, beauty products. In my adventures (literally!) I have found some of the BEST discount e-commerce makeup sites, as well as wallet friendly makeup at my local drugstore. A lot of my clients think that the more expensive the makeup the better.  Wrong!  I have a wide variety of makeup ranging from drugstore makeup to prestige beauty brands. Truthfully, I am just your regular ol’ girly and some of the best makeup looks I have created on myself have been with drugstore makeup!

I am always on a budget & I am sure some of you are too, so below I have put together a bunch of  products I have bought for myself recently that are cheap, but sure don’t look cheap (And they don’t apply cheap, either!).  Ennnjoy :)

Matte red lips is a very classic retro way to change up your look and If you are a makeup artist you will LOVE this technique tip!  All you need is a tissue, a medium sized blush brush and matte loose powder.

TECHNIQUE:
If you really want to get your lips perfectly matte, spread this tissue over the lips then powder it down very lightly!
