IN THE BAG: BEAUTY FOODS
There is no diet that will do what healthy eating does, and so maybe I don’t eat healthy all the time but I try really hard most days….. lets just say that I use moderation, in moderation. I feel better, think clearer and I sleep better. While a fresh blowout and some concealer can help you look your best, the most important beauty regimen you can get on is feeling your best. I now think of fresh fruits and vegetables as life enhancers and have become more and more interested in finding healthy drinks and snacks to pack with me on-the-go.
1) Avocados and Papayas: Avocados are the best fruit source of vitamin E and Papayas are a packed with enzymes that are very important in digesting food properly.
2) Dragon Fruit: This extremely beautiful fruit is packed with Vitamin-C which aids in building a strong immune system. Fights off those sniffles! Too busy to get sick!
3) Tomato Salads: I love cutting these babies up and drizzling olive oil and fresh cracked pepper over them for a quick snack! Typically I just cut them up and add them to my avocado and papaya salad but I am even guilty of enjoying a sun-ripened tomatoe as a snack on set, just like an apple!
4) Mineral Water, Freshly squeezed Finger Limes and/or Organic Lemons: I discovered finger limes at the ACF National Food Convention this year while helping a friend promote her new social networking site for foodies, Chef Key (check it out!). I love LOVE looooove lemons and limes and add them to pretty much any food or drink I can. I’ve been reading a lot about the health benefits of lemons and limes and their ability to purge toxins from the blood keeping your skin clear and your breathe fresh! I’ve switched to mineral water with fresh lemon or lime juice and sometimes even a dash of peppermint to keep my breathe fresh on a job.
Finger Limes: Referred to as citrus pearrrrrrls, or citrus caviar. So fancy. The citrus pearls can be squeezed out of the finger lime and used in any place that you would use a lemon or lime. The flavor is similar to that of a lemon-lime-grapefruit combo, the juice bursts from the citrus pearls when bitten into. Yum!!
BRIDAL Beauty Au Natural + CHIC BROWS
Caitlins brows are the epitome of what beautiful, au natural shaped brows should look like on your wedding day. Caitlin requested a timeless bridal ‘no makeup’ makeup look. Whatttttt? Have no fear, I always recommend “kill em’” with your eyebrows if you want to go more natural. The perfect eyebrow shape can make your ‘no makeup’ look achievable. If your eyebrows don’t look like Caitlins… you probably need brow rehab! Admit you have a problem and seek help ;) Caitlins look was mostly about correcting, highlighting, and contouring the face instead of adding color and drama. This technique sculpts the face and adds beautiful dimension for photography.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Caitlin and her maids, such a sweet group of gals!

To say that I enjoy doing makeup for weddings is an understatement. I LOVE bridal makeup! Remember Courtneys Altamont Manor wedding? This is where I first met Andrea from Andrea Servidone Studios. I was so excited when Andrea called me a few months later and asked if I would do her bridal makeup. Yes, Yes, Yes!! When a photographer schedules a makeup trial with me, thats one of the biggest compliments! I glammed Andrea and her maids up at a retro-edgy, industrial granny chic lodge - The Porches in North Adams, Massachusetts. The warmth, laughter, comfort, great food and great ambiance of the rooms made for a calm morning for my bride. Andrea is simply stunning so I created a soft, feminine glow for her wedding makeup look that really captured her effortless beauty. Her makeup palette consisted of soft shimmery pinks with a few individual lashes on each lid and a hint of natural rose flush for the cheeks. Her hair was kept simply down with flowing waves, a loose braid to one side loosely pulled back to create an anchor for her veil. Oh so chic!

A Victorian Themed Wedding
This wedding was from May 2012, thank you for sticking with me as I update all of the fabulous weddings I have had the pleasure of glamming up this season! Today I am bringing you the beautiful bride Lindsay who planned a timeless victorian themed wedding all by herself with a touch of sophisticated glam. I designed beauty looks for this beautiful bridal party dressed in the softest of pinks that complimented their hair and makeup perfectly. My hairstylist Alyssa Hatin and I drove from Albany, New York to the beautiful Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva, New York. One of my favorite things about being a freelance makeup artist is that I get to travel (one day I hope to travel the world doing makeup, cross those fingies!). It was a gorgeous drive to the vineyards, we planned to arrive early so we could scope out our venue, introduce ourselves to the staff and find out where the best lighting location would be for hair and makeup. Seriously, Lindsay and her maids couldn’t have picked a more PERFECT day for a wedding because we ended up doing hair & makeup outside over looking the Ventosa Vineyards. Makeup Artist Dream? Yup! This victorian themed wedding certainly had us on cloud nine! Take a peek!
